What are EEA Grants?
Through the EEA Grants Financial Mechanism 2014-2021, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, as donor states, fund initiatives and projects from 15 European Union member states, with the objectives of: reducing social and economic disparities and strengthening bilateral relations with the beneficiary states. Portugal is one of the beneficiary countries of this mechanism and CIG is the Operator of the Conciliation and Gender Equality Program, in partnership with LDO (Norwegian Equality and Anti-discrimination Ombud) from Norway. With an allocation of 7 million euros, this Program funds innovative and structuring projects in 3 priority areas: conciliation between professional, personal and family life; good governance; and violence against women and domestic violence, in line with the National Strategy for Equality and Non-Discrimination 2018-2030 – “Portugal More Equal” – ENIND.

The Conciliation and Gender Equality Program
It will allow, on one hand, to capitalize and develop initiatives from the results of the previous Program, also financed through EEA Grants 2009-2014, PT07: Mainstreaming Gender Equality and Promoting the Balance between Work and Family Life and, on the other hand, to bring new approaches and areas of intervention in order to make more effective public policies for the promotion of Gender Equality.
